After extensive research conducted over 3 years, it is not cost-effective to repair our current 83-year-old pool.
* Five swimming lanes, competition length
* Retain the diving boards, including the high dive
* Zero entry access
With a project this size, multiple avenues of funding will be pursued such as grants, donors (both individual and corporate), and the bond referendum.
Property taxes are projected to increase by $51.35 per $100,000 property value annually.
While not 100% guaranteed, the current plan is to complete the project during the pool's off-season.
Yes. You can vote by absentee ballot at the courthouse. While anyone can vote via absentee ballot, only Greenfield residents within city limits will have the Pool Bond Referendum question on their ballot.
While value is defined differently for each person, some benefits a pool brings to a community include, but are not limited to:
* Enhanced quality of life and makes our community more attractive to potential residents
* In an increased remote-work world, it's a lifestyle perk that encourages people to live and work from Greenfield
* Alternative forms of high resistance, low impact exercise
* Expanded economic opportunity - attracting newcomers and helping current residents invest locally
* Promotes mental health wellness through outdoor activity and personal interactions
* Potential group or team opportunities with competition-level swim lanes
* Learning a life-saving skill that lasts a lifetime
